Mobile App: Downloading and Using the iPhone App - Parents & Students

We have a brand new version of our TreeRing iPhone App! Now you can order a yearbook from the current year, upload more photos at a time, create custom pages and set them to print ready, order a book from a previous year, and much more!

If you previously downloaded the app you can update it in the App Store. To download the app go to the App Store on your iPhone or iPad and search TreeRing Yearbooks. The app icon looks like this:

When you open the app you can:

  • Create an account - If you have not created a TreeRing account on your computer you can do it here
  • Sign In - Use your email address and password to sign into your existing TreeRing account
  • Forgot password? - Reset your password

Create an Account:

Select Create an account and enter the passcode for your school. (The yearbook editor at the school will provide you with the passcode.) You will be asked for your role at the school, name, email, create a password, and verify your age.

If you do not have the passcode for your school, select Don't have your school's passcode? and you will be prompted to enter your information for verification of your identity.

Enter your school and student information.

You will be notified that a Passcode Request has been sent to us and you will receive an email within 48 hours with instructions on how to activate your account.

Forgot Password:

If you can't remember your password, select Forgot Password?. Enter your email address and a new password will be sent to you.

Sign In:

If you already have a TreeRing account, use your email address and password to sign in. You will be taken to a screen that looks like this.

Purchasing the yearbook:

On this screen you will see the purchase by date and the Add to Cart button. The current yearbook will be listed first. Previous years' books will show below the current year so you can find the one you want and purchase it.

Select Add to Cart and you will see Book Options. You can change the quantity and upgrade to a hardcover book. When the book options are correct, select Next. If you want to order a book for another child or a yearbook for a previous year, select the X in the upper left corner.

To order yearbooks for another child select the menu.

You will see a list of your children so that you can select the child and order the correct yearbook. Make sure it shows the correct school when ordering the yearbook.

Check Out:

Once you are done adding all of the books you want to purchase you can view all of the books in your cart. Make sure that your child's name matches with the correct school. You can remove the book from your cart or change the options for the book. When your cart is correct, select Check Out and follow the prompts to pay for your book(s) with a credit card. Please note that the only method of payment on this app is credit card.


If you are ordering the current yearbook before the deadline you will see that the book is being shipped to the school and there is no charge for shipping. If you are placing an order after the deadline or for a previous year's book you will need to select a shipping method. The shipping charge will be added to your cart. Select Next.


Payment options are Apple Pay and Credit Card


If paying by credit card enter your credit card information and select Next.

Make sure your Order Summary is correct and select Place Order.


Make sure you see the confirmation that Your order has been submitted. Select the X to close the screen. A receipt for your order will be emailed to you.

Note:  You can view your order in the shopping cart on this app but you cannot cancel it. You will need to sign into your TreeRing account on your computer to cancel the order in your profile.

Adding Photos and Memories:

Select the circle with the + sign to add photos and memories.

Adding Photos:

You will first get the notification that TreeRing would like to access your photos. You must select OK to use the photos on your phone.

Select where your photos are:  Photos, Instagram, or Facebook.  You can also Take a Photo.

Select the photos you want to upload. You can upload up to 100 photos at a time. Select Next.

After the photo(s) have been uploaded you can:

  • add a caption to the photo
  • add the photo directly to your student(s) custom pages
  • share the photo with the school - this will show the photo in the school feed
  • tag the photo with a student's name - this will make the photo private so that only you will see the photo

Select Next when you are done and you will have the same options for all of the photos you uploaded.

Adding Memories:

When you select to add a memory the next screen will show suggested memories. Pick the one you like and answer it.

 On the next screen you can:

  • answer the memory (add a caption) - if you answer the memory and not share it with the school it will be set to private only me so that only you can see it
  • add to a student's custom pages
  • share with the school - this will show the memory in the school feed

Select Done.


Deleting Photos and Memories:

Select Memories.

Select the options.

Select Delete. From this screen you can also Share and Edit the photo.

Creating the custom pages:

The custom pages must be completed and set to Print Ready before the Customize by date on this screen. Select Custom Pages.

Note: Custom pages cannot be created for yearbooks for previous years on this app.

You will see your custom pages and the deadline for editing the pages. To continue to edit your custom pages, select Edit Custom Pages.

Note: On this app you will be able to create custom pages with up to 4 photos per page (8 per page spread). The background on the page spread will be white. If you want to edit the pages with more photos, memories, graphics, text, and a different background you will need to log into your computer for more detailed editing capabilities.

Once you log into a computer to edit, you WILL NOT be able to make further edits on this app. If you originally started editing the custom pages on your computer you WILL NOT be able to continue editing them on this app. You can delete the pages so that you can start fresh on this App. You can also add more custom pages for $.99 per page spread. Select Done Editing will close this screen.

Custom Page 1 will show you the photos and memories you have selected for that page. If you want to create more custom pages Swipe for the next page. To add more photos and/or memories Tap to select them. Select Done when you have completed the pages.

When your custom pages are complete you must set them to print ready so they will print in your yearbook.

If you have not purchased the yearbook you will not be able to set the pages to print ready and you will see this notification. Select BUY NOW to purchase the book and set to print ready or select I'll Buy Later. If you buy the book later it means that your custom pages HAVE NOT been set to print ready.

If you have purchased the book you will see this print ready confirmation. Select HOORAY!

This screen shows how your custom pages will print in the yearbook and that they are ready for print.

Managing Settings and signing out of the app:

To get to your settings select the menu.

Select Settings.

Select Profile or Settings to make changes. You can also Add a Student to your profile and change the settings for your child(ren) including adding and deleting a school.

You can make changes to your profile. Select Done when all the changes have been made.

You can change your Settings. Scroll to the bottom and this is where you can sign out of TreeRing.
