How can a chief editor delete an extra page from a student's custom pages?

  • Avatar
    Aaron Greco

    Hi Maren,
    1) Go to the People/Orders tab in the Chief Editor bar.
    2) Fid the student in the list by search or scroll
    3) Click the little book icon
    4) Hover over the student's extra page and click the trash icon

No trashcan appears with the Mac. Any other ideas?

    Hi Stacey,
I just checked your pages and the trash can icon appears for me on a Mac on a mouse over. Not sure why it's not working for you. Would you like me to delete the second set of pages for you?

Yes please!!!! Unfortunately I had time on my hands and I just blackened out all of pages 1-2. :/ Any way to get those back to the original way and only get rid of the planets in the upper right hand corner? I did this EASILY all last year. I wonder if it was only beginner's luck. ;)

Deleted! So sorry for the difficulty. We can't figure out why you're not seeing the trash can... at least you can move on.

Thank you. I'm excited to continue. Maybe I will use a different computer. I appreciate all your help.

I also am having this problem on a PC? I need to delete one of the two spreads one of my parents started (but didn't finish) and I don't get a trash can...

    Hi Emily,
Which account and which pages? I see you're in two schools. A Chief Editor in one and a Staff Editor in the other. Staff Editors can't delete pages, but you should be able to in the school in which you're a Chief Editor...

Walnut Farm, Grayson Harsh pages 3-4. I just logged in on a Mac and had the same problem? No trash can? Thank you for your help!!

Thanks Emily. That's very strange. We tried on multiple Macs and multiple browsers here and had no problem. Are you looking at the pages individually or from "Review All Custom Pages"?

I have tried to find that trash can in the Review All Custom pages mode, I have looked in the individual pages mode...it's just not there. I've hovered my mouse and clicked on the off hand that it was just invisible--no luck. I even tried on a mac at a different office earlier today. Could it be a glitch in just my account/login somehow??

note: When looking at the yearbook pages in the multiple pages view, I can hover my mouse and I see the trash can in the lower left corner of the preview thumbnail. It's only missing in the custom pages window. Does that help narrow the search?

I did notice that you took care of Grayson's extra pages for me, and thank you. :) I can set to print ready now. YAY!

The trash can does NOT show in Review All Custom Pages mode, only in the individual pages mode. I tried from your account and it worked. It's a mystery to me, but at least you're not blocked and it's working on the maini book for you. Thanks for your patience and help Emily!

how can a student delete a page not wanted, mouse over doesn't work.
  • Avatar
    Debbie
Hi Devin - You cannot delete pages 1-2 if you have not added more pages. If you do not like the template on pages 1-2 you can change it! Click on the pages and you can change the background and rearrange or delete the photo boxes!
  • Avatar
    Aaron Greco
@DevinMurphy, you can also add a new template page first and then you'll be able to delete the original pages. The site requires that there is always 1 set of pages.

I am student making a yearbook and I am not able to delete extra pages from the yearbook and i looked up the instruction and they are not very helpful
  • Avatar

Hi Angel, I checked out your account and you only have one spread (two pages) in your account. If you don't plan on customizing your pages you don't need to do anything further. Just leave your pages as not print ready. There is no need to delete the default pages.

Hi Angel - Since you are a staff editor you are unable to delete page spreads from the yearbook. One of the chief editors will need to delete the pages by hovering over the page spread in the yearbook overview and clicking on the trash can.

I'm trying to edit book. I'm not sure why when I click on the edit book, it has all the pictures and layout i want. But when I move the mouse over to ready print yes, it shows something different. It only has a few pictures.

Hi Han - I checked your custom pages and all views of the pages are the same now. Please change the Print Ready button to YES and the pages will be correct.

I cannot find the trash can either. I want to delete all pages and start all over again. Please advise.

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Harsha - When you log in and select #5 Edit Book you will then see the overview of all of the custom pages. Hover over a page spread and the trash can will appear in the lower left corner. Click on it to delete the page spread. There always has to be one page spread showing, so you will need to Add Pages to get another page spread before you can delete the one you do not want.

I uploaded photos and created a custom page. However, the custom page was placed in my previous school's yearbook. How can I move this new custom page to my current school?

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Nick - Select the Add Pages page spread (the one with the big green + sign) and then select My Pages. You can then filter to find the pages you want to add to the custom pages for your current school.

I had a similiar problem - I was able to see the trash can and click on it and it said it got rid of the extra two pages of own of my students, but it actually didn't and I couldn't set those pages to print ready because it wouldn't let me change the quantity to zero on those pages (wanted me to pay for them). I had to set the book to print ready and ran out of time so they will just get a standard book.

Hi Tara - It looks like you were able to delete the unwanted custom pages. I just checked the pages for your child and only the 2 correct pages are set to print ready and will print in the yearbook.

Hi. When I started to make the book, I chose to have custom pages. I no longer want them but cannot find a way to turn them off or delete them. There is no garbage icon when I hover over the bottom left corner. Is it too late?
