Placing Teachers In the First Positions on Portrait Auto Flow Pages

Auto Flow arranges all photos in a section in alphabetical order including the teachers.  You will need to tag the teacher so that her/his photo is in the first position of the portraits.

1. Log in and select Yearbook. Select #4 Auto-Portraits to get to Manage Portrait Auto Flow.

2. Click on the section name and it will open showing you all of the photos.

3. Find the teacher(s) and hover over the photo. A small "i" will appear in the upper left hand corner. Click on it to make edits to the photo details.

4. Tag the teacher photo by clicking on the green Is this a Teacher? button. The button will change to I'm a Teacher.

5. If there is more than one teacher for a class, tag all of the teachers' photos and they will move to the first positions in alphabetical order.

6. Sometimes a class has a teacher and an assistant and they are out of order because of their last names. You can place the teacher in the first position by adding a space in front of her last name. Again hover over the teacher photo and click on the "i". Put a space in front of her last name and X out of the picture.

7. The teacher's photo will move to the first position. This is the order the portraits will flow to the pages.

If you also have the teachers' photos on a staff page they should not be selected as I'm a Teacher so that they stay in alphabetical order. If you want the principal to be first, then tag them as a teacher.

Helpful to get teacher in first position, however there are two teachers and two assistants. Not sure how to do this but will try to play with it.

Did it! added two spaces in front of main teacher, one space in front of Special Ed. Teacher and no space for the assistants.

What if you need the second teacher to be farther down the page with their own set of students?

    Hi Heather,
Now you're talking advanced auto flow! Here's an article to put two classes on one page with portrait auto flow:

Let us know if that solves what you need.

I did this after moving teachers to the class page from my teacher page (and keeping a copy), but now that I'm ready to auto flow, my teacher folder says it has 0 portraits. When I click on it, I can still see all the teachers, but I'm afraid it will flow with nothing. How do I fix it?

Hi Dayna - When looking at the number of portraits in your sections in Manage Portrait Auto Flow I see 23 portraits in your staff section. I also see the staff portraits added to your pages. Please check it out and let us know if you need our help!

I've done the trick with the space in front of the letter to adjust alphabetical order. I've noticed that if I do this on one page (Kinder AM) then it automatically does the adjustment for the other page (Kinder PM). This is an issue for me as we have 1 lead teacher in the AM kinder that is the associate teacher in the PM kinder. I also found that when I adjust the name with the space at the front then when the same teacher shows up in the Staff pages the alphabetical list is all out of order. How can I order the names correctly on each page when we need each page to have different rules of which teacher comes first? I'd like to define the order on each page not have the order definition be universal.

Hi Lianne - You need different copies of the photo to be in the different sections so that you can position them differently in each section. Upload the photo to all the Portrait Auto Flow sections where they belong and then you can adjust the spacing in each section to position them where you want them.

My faculty page is still showing all the "spaced" teachers as alphabetically ahead of the rest of the faculty. This should not be the solution to the problem.

Hi April - When spacing is added to a staff member's portrait it will change it in both sections. In this case you will need to upload another image of the portraits to the staff section so that they will fall in line alphabetically.
