VIDEO: Assigning Pages to Staff Editors

This video will show you how to enable the feature and then assign pages to Staff Editors. This is a great tool for clarifying which Staff Editor is responsible for which pages.

Step-By-Step Guide

You can assign specific pages to Staff Editors. They will only have access to edit the pages assigned to them.

1. Log in and select Yearbook.

2. Select Edit Settings.

3. Enable Assign Pages by changing the Status to ON.

4. Close the Settings window and go to the yearbook pages overview to see Assign Editor beneath each page spread.

5. Click on Assign Editor and start entering the Staff Editor's name. Select the Staff Editor you want to assign to the pages. You can assign several Staff Editors to a page spread.

6.Once you have assigned the Staff Editor(s) to the page, close the window and you will see their name(s) listed under the page spread.

7. To remove an editor from a page, click on their name below the page spread. In the Assign Editor window, hover your cursor over the editor's name you wish to remove and click on the trash can.

Can you have more than one editor assigned to a page?

Do assigned editors shift as pages shift? For example, if we assign an editor to the Spirit section on pages 60-61, then want to move that section to another part of the yearbook, will that editor shift with those pages?

    Hi Heidi,
    The short answer is, yes.

Can you change the name of the assigned page rather than leaving it as the default that Treering has?

    Hi Michelle,
You can change the title of a page spread by hovering over the spread and clicking on the informational i in the upper right corner. Then select Edit Title. Here is a link which shows you how to do it!

Does making this change generate an email to the editors about the assignment or not?

Hi Catherine - No, an email is not generated when you assign pages to staff editors or if you change their assignment.

Ok, now that I've assigned them pages, what next? Is there a get started video for Staff Editors?

Hi Hillary - We do not have a getting started video just for staff editors but you can use the VIDEO: Chief Editor Getting Started Training Session and have them watch the Creating Pages In Your Yearbook segment.

    1. Is it possible to assign a single page, instead of a page spread to a staff editor?

    2. Can I rearrage the order of the pages, after assigning staff editors? What is assigned page/page number?

    3. Can I block staff editors from viewing other pages?

Hi Sripradha - No you can't assign a single page to a particular staff editor but you can assign more than one editor to a page spread. When you assign a staff editor to a page spread the editor stays with the page spread when it is moved to a different location within the yearbook. All staff editors can view all the pages in the yearbook but they can only work on their assigned pages.
