VIDEO: Adding Editors to Your Yearbook Team

As you get volunteers to help you with the yearbook, you will need to add them to your Yearbook Team. This video explains how to add Chief Editors and Staff Editors to your Yearbook Team.

If you're planning to have student staff editors and fear they may forget their usernames and passwords, you may want to compile a list of all usernames and passwords or create usernames and passwords for them.

Since TreeRing is designed with safety and security in mind, we do not have the ability to provide a master list of usernames and passwords. Of course individual users do have the ability to recover their own passwords through verification via the “Forgot Password” button on the sign-in page. This will send the user a new, temporary password which they can use to login and create a new password.

    Hi Monica,
To change from Staff to Chief Editor.
Go to the Yearbook Team tab
Click on the person's name that you want to change
Click on the menu under Team Role
    Click "OK"
Have the person re-sign into TreeRing to pick up their new role.
    That's it!

My school doesn't give out ANY student emails. This makes it near impossible to have students work on the yearbook. How can I get around this problem?

    Hi Adele,
You can use fake email addresses for the student editors so that they can work on the book. Create free gmail addresses for them. You can copy/change the password for them without even having to sign into the email account.

Hi Michelle - You can get the student's Activation Link and email it to them directly. Here is the link to the article showing you how to do it: https://treering.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201683484-Change-Password-or-Get-Account-Activation-Link-for-Users

Can I change a student member to a editor easier than re-typing in each of their email addresses? We have 64 students that need to be editors.

Hi Shelly - Currently there is not a way to add an editor role to a student without adding each of them to the yearbook team with their email address. That is a great feature request, though!
