Reviewing All Students' Custom Pages

Chief Editors have the capability to review all students' and all teachers' custom pages at any time. By doing this you can see all the content added to the pages to confirm that it is all appropriate. You can also set the custom pages to print ready YES or set them back to print ready NO for the parent/student or teacher if needed.

1. Log in and select People/Orders.

 2. On the Students & Parents tab, select Review All Student Pages.

3. You will only be able to review edited custom pages for purchased books. Not all custom pages in review will show content on them. The custom pages just need to be clicked on by the student for them to show up in review. If the name title of the page spread is RED it means that the custom pages are not set to print ready. If the name title of the page spread is GREEN it means that the custom pages have been set to print ready. If you need to edit the pages or set the pages to print ready YES or NO, click on the page spread and make the necessary edits.

With the recent update to our iPhone app, parents can now create custom pages and set them to print ready on the app as long as they have purchased the book. These pages will be included in Review All Student Pages. If you need to edit the pages or set the pages to print ready YES or NO, click on the page spread and make the necessary edits.

Note:  You will not be able to make edits to students' custom pages after you have set the yearbook to print ready.

Sometimes a student will have more than one custom page spread and you will be able to see all of them. You will not be able to set those pages to print ready YES unless the parent has already paid for the extra custom pages.

4. If you want to view only one student's custom pages you can do this from the Students & Parents list. Click on the book icon in the student's name line to review the pages and make edits.

How do I review pages for students who haven't purchased a yearbook yet?

Hi Mrs. K, we don't include those who haven't purchased a book in the All Pages Review because they won't get printed. If you want to review an individual's book you can anytime by clicking on the book icon next to a student in the People/Orders tab.

Hi Megan - No, you are not able to see a student's custom pages from previous years.

Is the chief editor able to see a student's pages even if they have chosen "private/only me" as the option for who can see their pages?

    Debbie

Hi Alicia - Yes, chief editors can review a student's custom pages even if they have defaulted their content to Private/Only Me. This setting defaults the privacy for photos and memories.

OK, so if someone set their book to print-ready, but there are only picture-holders on their pages (not pictures or any other kind of personalization)...should I switch print-ready to "no" for them? Otherwise, they will get those blank picture-holder pages instead of the alternate pages, right?

Hi Alicia - Right! If no personalization has been done on the custom pages and the pages are set to print ready, the background on the pages will print in the student's yearbook instead of the alternate pages. Yes, you should set them back to Print Ready NO.

When I review our students' custom pages that created on a mobile device, the background looks white instead of our template or any other custom background available on the desktop version of TreeRing. Is this a limitation of doing your custom pages on a mobile device (i.e., you can only have a plain white background)? Or do they have a custom background that I am unable to review when I look at their custom pages on the desktop version?

    Debbie

Hi Dana - Custom pages created on the iPhone app will all have plain white backgrounds. If parents want to change the background they will need to log into TreeRing on their computer and create the custom pages there.

What happens if parents haven't finished their custom pages but the editors are ready to send the yearbook off for print? Should the editors set those custom pages to print ready or can the parents still work on their custom pages after the editors have sent the yearbook off to be printed?

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Crystal - You should only set the custom pages to print ready if you are sure they are complete. Whatever is on the pages when you set them to print ready will print in the yearbook. Parents can work on their pages after you set the book to print ready but the pages will not print in a book which was purchased before the deadline. They can finish the pages and place an after deadline order to include custom pages in a yearbook.

A parent contacted me and asked me if she could have an extension on the custom pages for the books she has purchased already. Are parents who have purchased a book already able to work on and set their pages to print ready after the custom page deadline as long as they finish before I set the yearbook to print ready?

Hi Alicia - Yes, parents can work on custom pages after they have purchased the yearbook. As a chief editor you can change the Custom Page Ready Date to one that works for you and the school. Parents ultimately have the same deadline as you. They must purchase the yearbook and complete the custom pages setting them to print ready by the All Pages Print Ready Date.
