Adding Photos to Custom Pages

Once you upload photos to your TreeRing site you can then add them to the custom pages.

1. Log in and select Edit Book.

2. Select the custom pages to edit.

3. Select Add a Photo.

4. Find the photo using the filter dropdowns.

5. Click on the photo to drag and drop it onto the pages. The check mark on the photo shows that you have used it on the custom pages.

I purchased two yearbooks and cannot see anyway to access the custom pages. I have two children and will be creating individual custom pages for each child. I can't see how to save two different versions - or even one, for that matter. This website is the opposite of intuitive. It just keeps asking me to buy a yearbook, when I've already purchased two, but can't seem to access them at all.

    Hi Amy,
I'm very sorry for the confusion. I do see that you've purchased books for both of your children.
Since you are a Staff Editor for your school's book you are also able to see and edit the core book. To switch to your children's custom pages, after you sign in click the dropdown menu in the upper left part of the page that says "Viewing [The Ivy School]" and change it to one of your children. You can customize and print ready each child's pages there.
    I hope that helps!

I requested information on creating my own/custom layouts for the photos I wish to add ..Right now I have a pre set template that has a set number of photo slots in a set . I am unable to change the template or do anything with the picture arrangements. I need advise please. Thanks.

Hi Archana - If you do not want to use the default template for the custom pages click on the Drop Photo Here boxes and select the trash can to remove them. You do not need a template to work from as you can drag and drop photos, graphics, and text to the pages positioning them wherever you want. Once a photo is placed on the page, just click on it and move it where you want!

It won't let me get to my regular photos. It will only let me get to a few of them. How do I get to my iPhotos? P.S. I have already uploaded them. they all say either 1/1 uploaded or 0/1 uploaded. The thing about the 1/1 uploaded ones, is that they won't let me access them! There still just loading and loading and loading and loading...

Hi Jasmine - Make sure that you are working on your computer when trying to upload photos. If you are using the TreeRing phone app the photos will automatically be added to a Mobile Uploads folder. Here are two links which will help you with uploading photos.

Hi there! I love the idea of this program, but it seems very user unfriendly. I have been a professional photographer for almost 10 years and have used many different products for album/book designs. I seem to have lots of issues when trying to use the treering program. Just my 2 cents.

    Hi Tawnya,
Thanks for the feedback. Anything specific we can work on? We try to make everything intuitive and drag and drop. Perhaps you're used to more power user tools?

I am trying to add pictures to the yearbook, and it is not allowing me to pull pictures from the Mac applications. When I try and access the PHOTOS file, everything is grayed out.
    What am I doing incorrect?

I'm trying to order an additional page. I created the two free ones. When I try to add photos to the additional one it keeps telling me the page is locked? How do I unlock the page.

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Dreama - The pages will automatically time out and unlock. I see they unlocked and you were able to create 2 more awesome custom pages!

I'm trying to upload photos from Facebook, I've selected the pictures I want and now it says upload starting but nothing is happening! There's not anywhere to even click to restart it or close it.

    Debbie

Hi Toni - Close Facebook and then unlink it in your account settings on TreeRing. Refresh your browser and link your Facebook account again so that you can retry the photo upload process.

I HATE this utility..... I have tried and tried to "Add" photos to my 2 page whatever it is....and it's not letting me. This is way not user-friendly. Someone please update this software!

    Hi Scott,
Sorry for the frustration. I see you were able to upload over a dozen photos and answer a bunch of memory questions. i quickly added them to the page by dragging and dropping them from the photo tray. If you like the layout you can click print ready.

for some reason when i try to upload a photo it says the same thing and its due tomorrow.

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Ian - First you have to upload the photos to be able to add them to your custom pages. I see that you have set your pages to print ready without any photos. Set them back to print ready NO and upload some photos following the instructions in the Help Center article. When you are done make sure you set them back to print ready. If you have your pages done by 4/29/16 they will be included in your yearbook.

  • Avatar

Hi Lauren - Log into TreeRing on your computer and select Add Photos. You will see a folder called Mobile Photos. Click on the folder to see the photos from your phone. When you edit the book and add photos to the custom pages you can select photos from this folder.

I'm trying to use the preset pages for classes and drop photos into that. I have the photos on autoflow. How do I access the photos from there? It seems really strange that you have pages, looking like we can use them for grades, and then not being able to use because we have a cd from the photographer. I'm sure I'm not finding the information I need. So again, I'm wanting to use the photos from the photographer and place them on your premade, class pages! I understand I have to do that manually but how? Thanks for any feedback

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hello - When using Auto Flow new pages will be created when the portraits are flowed. The portraits will not flow into preset template pages. If you really want to drag and drop portraits onto template pages manually you will need to upload the photos into folders and access them in the editing tray under the page spread. Please consider using Auto Flow as it will be so much easier for you! Here is a link to the Portrait Auto Flow section in the Help Center for more information: https://treering.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/200141100-Creating-the-Yearbook-Portrait-Auto-Flow

I uploaded pics for the custom page then went back to add more and it just continuously spins to upload them but they never appear. What do I do?

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Kathy - The spinning means that the internet connection slowed down or was lost during the uploading process. Please log out and back into TreeRing and try uploading the photos again.
