Uploading Photos: Parents & Students

Before you can add your photos to your custom pages you first need to upload the photos to TreeRing.

1. Log in and select Add Photos.

2. Select the folder where you want the photo(s) uploaded or you can add another personal folder. Just select Add Folder and follow the prompts.

3. Select Add Photos.

4. Select Where Your Photos Are. You can upload your photos from My Computer, Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Google Drive, or Dropbox.

 5. Select the photo from the Pictures folder on your computer.  You can select more than one photo by holding down the Control key for a PC or the Command key for a Mac when selecting the photos.

6. Once you find and select the photo you must select the privacy setting for the photo. Make sure you select Private/Only Me if you do not want anyone else to see the photo. Once you have selected the privacy setting for your photo then select Next.

7. After the photo(s) have uploaded, select Finish and the photo will be in your folder.

Hi Jenn - Once you have uploaded photos to TreeRing, you can then add them to your custom pages. After you click on the custom pages to edit, select Add a Photo from the editing tray located under the pages. Find the photo(s) you want and drag and drop them onto the pages.

How do I put a new folder into the community shared section?

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Bettye - Log in, select Photos, and Add Folder. Then select All Community Shared Folder. Once the folder is created everyone in the school community will get the option to upload photos to that folder. This link will help! https://treering.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200333654-Adding-a-Shared-Photo-Folder

I have all the pictures I want on my instagram, and when I click the Add Photos > Instagram it brings up my old account. How can I log out of an Instagram account and then log into another?

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Florisel - When uploading photos from Instagram you will need to authorize TreeRing to access your Instagram account. Make sure you enter the username and password for the Instagram account you want to use. If the wrong Instagram account is linked to TreeRing you need to go to your account settings (click on your name in the top toolbar) and unlink it. You can then link the correct Instagram account when uploading your photos.

    Debbie

Hi Elizabeth - Make sure you are using your computer and not a mobile device to log in on www.treering.com. Edit the custom pages by selecting #5 Edit Book or by clicking on the page spread image.

Hello, I am uploading pictures using the mobile app, but they do not show up on the web. Whats going on?

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Aakash - The photos from the TreeRing mobile app are automatically uploaded to the Mobile Photos folder on your site. Log in on your computer, go to Add Photos, and you will see the folder. Click on the folder to see the photos.

sorry its not working. I have uploaded several tens of pictures from mobile, for both my kids, and they do not show up on ANY folder on the website. It used to work, but unfortunately its no longer working. The app could use some testing.

Hi Aakash - I have checked your account and I see 27 photos in your Mobile Photos folder. Please log in on www.treering.com using your computer. Make sure you are running the latest version of your internet browser and Adobe Flash. Viewing issues on the site are caused by not having the updated Adobe Flash version on your browser.

Hi Prudence - When you upload photos and see "Who can see these images?" select the option for all of your school community. This will share your photo with the school community and it will appear in the All Around section.

Hi, I've selected several photos from Facebook, but Treering just says "Uploading Starting" and it stays like that for a LONG time. I've tried twice and it still just says that and nothing gets uploaded. Today's the last day I can personalize my son's yearbook... I started this weeks ago but it was so frustrating (not because of uploading photos like now, but the ease of use wasn't so easy!) I put it off and was just going to forget it until I decided to give it one more try on this last day (wishing I hadn't!). Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hi Kristin - Unlinking Facebook and linking your account again usually helps with the uploading of photos. I just checked your custom pages and they are complete and awesome! So glad that you were able to create the custom pages!

I'm trying to upload photos to the site in order to place them in the book. However, when I try and choose photos it says file not found. I can't get it to open any folders to see the pictures...please help!!

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Kelly - It looks like you were able to open your photos folder on your computer to upload them to TreeRing. I am seeing 27 photos uploaded for your child and that you have placed some on the custom pages. If you can complete the pages and set them to print ready within the next 2 days the pages will print in the yearbook.

When I try to name my folder, nothing happens. Can't upload photos, nor move on to editing. I'm working from a Mac. Could that be the problem?

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Judith - Using a Mac will not make a difference when accessing and using the TreeRing site. I just checked your account and see that you have created 12 personal folders. Make sure that you are running the latest version of your internet browser and Adobe Flash and this will eliminate your viewing issues.

High, I am having difficulty in uploading pictures from facebook. When I put in my track team's fan page or the group page login, the loading process just goes on and on... I left it loading for 1 hr, came back and it was still circling. Exactly how can I upload from a facebook group which is where all our team pictures are.

    Debbie

Hi Lola - Sorry for the late response. Currently only Facebook personal accounts can be accessed to upload photos.

How do I, as editor, get the pictures from the community folder and place them into proper "shared" folders?

  • Avatar
    Debbie

Hi Amy - You can easily move photos in shared folders to other shared folders. Follow this link to see how to do it! https://treering.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200016765-Copying-and-Moving-Photos-Between-Folders
FYI - If parents uploaded photos to their personal folders you, as the editor, will not be able to move those photos to shared folders.
