Using Chromebooks

A Chromebook is a laptop of a different breed. Instead of Windows 10 or MacOS, Chromebooks run Google's Chrome OS. These machines are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud.

TreeRing works on all Chromebooks since they run Google Chrome browser. Just like on any other computer, Chrome has Adobe Flash built in. Flash must be enabled in Chrome for the TreeRing site to work.

To enable Flash on a Chromebook:

1. Go to Content Settings on Chrome by typing in chrome://settings/content/flash in the URL bar.

2. The button must be enabled. This screen will also show the websites blocked and allowed for Flash. If TreeRing is not listed as allowed, click ADD and add it.

NOTE: If the default TreeRing address (treering.com:443) does not work, then add [*.]treering.com to be allowed on Flash.

Hi Aimee - I have created a ticket in our customer support system so that we can get more information on the student's issue.
