How to Apply for a Sales Tax Exemption on an Order

When a Chief Editor places an order with TreeRing, applying for a sales tax exemption has been simplified.

If you believe that your order qualifies for your state sales tax exemption select the checkbox "This purchase is sales tax exempt" during checkout.

Once this is selected, you will need to confirm you understand and acknowledge the notification displayed (similar to the one below):

After you have confirmed this is a sales tax exempt purchase, complete your transaction as normal.

Once your purchase is made, you will receive two emails:

  1. A purchase confirmation/receipt.
  2. A request to remit the State Sales Tax Exemption certificate to Treering. To submit the sales tax certificate, reply to this email with the pdf attachment of your sales tax exemption certificate.

You can also email the pdf of your sales tax exemption form to taxexempt@treering.com.

Note: The Tax Exemption Agreement will always show when you place an order that you mark as tax exempt. If you have already provided your state tax exemption certificate for a previous order, you do not need to send it to us again unless your state tax laws require you to do so. If you are not sure whether you should be submitting the tax form for every order, please contact your accounting department to get clarification.
